What a wonderful week our family of 8 had at Montisina! It is a charming house in a charming old hill village in the heart of Tuscany. The kitchen was beautifully stocked with everything we could need for our dining in, and the grocery store next door made that even easier. They bakery just down the hill had all the bread and treats we needed. We did most of our cooking for ourselves so can’t report on the restaurants in the village but we understand they are quite good. Ann was very helpful with all the house and village had to offer. Our two grandsons slept in the upper room which was, appropriately enough, the old nursery. Ann had preserved... What a wonderful week our family of 8 had at Montisina! Our stay at Aceronina was the favorite part of our trip. The villa was even better than expected....Very spacious and lovely...especially the view. We got lost (followed the GPS) on the way and Olivia, the owner came to get us and lead us to the villa. We also had someone recommended by Olivia come in one night to fix a wonderful dinner for us. Also thanks to Dan of Invitation to Tuscany for all your help. Any time I had questions, they were promptly answered and much help was offered. Would definitely do this again. We loved Casina, fantastic setting in the hills, quiet and quaint, beautiful pool and Jasmine arbour, fragrance drifting across the pool was divine. To celebrate a special birthday a group of four of us stayed in Casa Allioni for a week. It was everything we hoped for. The villa itself is both spacious and homely. There are a number of good outdoor spaces with great views to relax and unwind. The pool is fantastic, big enough for all of us to enjoy, in privacy. The village is nearby at the bottom of the hill, there is a small grocery shop adjacent to a restaurant; on most days it’s open from 8am to 12.30, then 4.30 to 7pm. The owner of the villa, Beverly, is very friendly and helped us out when we had any questions. As it’s the countryside, do come prepared for... We really enjoyed or stay in Villa Cuculo, a most attractive and interesting villa set in spectacular landscape. The accommodation suited us perfectly with four bedrooms all ensuite and the open plan living, dining and kitchen area was large and ideal for us to enjoy, dining by candlelight each evening. We also enjoyed very much the pool and surrounding poolside amenities. We visited Sienna, Arezzo and market day in Monte San Savino and enjoyed a birthday lunch for my daughter in a great restaurant in Gargonza when visiting the spectacular medieval Castello di Gargonza. We hired two cars which worked well for six adults, allowing us to travel comfortably and worked well. I would certainly recommend Villa Cuculo and congratulate... We had a very lovely stay at Montisina - Ann Alexander was a very considerate and extremely friendly landlady. The house is beautiful, the view onto the hills and Castelmuzio breathtaking and the the village functions extremely well. It was an ideal base for excursions to the many highlights of this region and a calm and comfortable place to relax. My husband particularly enjoyed biking in the surroundings following the trails of the Eroica as well as truffle hunting with Nico and I appreciated the very decent restaurants in Montisi, the wonderfully equipped store next to our house and strolling with the dogs around the narrow streets of the village, especially at night when the village is lit up and... We had a lovely vacation at the villa. It was everything and more than we could have hoped for. Our only regret was that we were not able to stay longer to explore all of the property and to enjoy every sitting area multiple times. As interior designers, we really appreciated the collected feeling of the home; a place where years of love and travel have layered the rooms. The photos did not do the villa justice! The bedrooms in the main house are comfortable and cozy. Our kids loved having their special twin bedrooms in which they could plot their pirates or gladiators fantasies underneath the ethereal netting. Many hours of imagination play or scavenger hunts were enjoyed. And... We had a lovely vacation at the villa. It was everything and more than we could have hoped for. From the advice on local wild swimming from Daniel, on horse riding from you, and on a concert in Sienna from Simone, the contact we had with you and your team was warm, welcoming and helpful. The bottle of wine and prepared dinner on arrival were extremely welcome, after a very long drive to arrive. The house itself was just right for our party of eight, with enough room for children’s and adults’ spaces, and wonderful dinners in and outside. We had an absolutely lovely time at Castelonchio. Barry and Karen our hosts greeted us most warmly and invited us to coffee the morning after our arrival to tell us more about the fascinating area around Lake Trasimeno. Our little grandchildren ran to the pool in their bathing costumes before we had even unpacked the cars and from then on it was the pool or nothing for them so it was with difficulty that we explored the endlessly intriguing small towns around the Lake. What a wonderfully relaxing holiday we had at Ponte Romano. Nestled at the bottom of the valley below the walls of the town of Fivizzano proved a great location from which we spent a very relaxing fortnight. The house had everything we needed and Brian provided us with some great information about the town which enabled us to make the most of our time there. The walk up the hill to the town kept us all fit. The Agritourismo up in the hills outside Fivizzano – Al Vecchio Tino - near Monzone was the best meal we had and again recommended by Brian. Firstly, we had a brilliant time (except for Ryanair, not your responsibility!). The service you provided was superb. I have never come across so helpful a company, with such quick responses. Excellent! The web description of the apartments was completely accurate. The view is just spectacular. Only a couple of very minor points: you need to be fit or an energetic child to walk up to the village! And, in your written details, it might be worth stressing the value of stocking up on food at a supermarket before arrival. The Coop at Poggibonsi Sud was excellent but quite a trek once we we in Radicondoli. Are there supermarkets and/or/ markets and butchers nearer? I think I saw a butchers... Our stay at Lucumone was a great success! the location, the house, the pool, all were wonderful. All the linen and towels were of very good quality. If there was something missing, it was ice! The fridge ice dispenser was not working and the few ice “trays” available were so small and few that only one or two of us could have ice in our drinks! ICE is very important when holidaying in summer! So many great restaurants nearby, the Osteria and the Bar Ucci in Volpaia, and many others including our favourite, il Ristoro di Lamole near Greve. We also much appreciated the Winery at the Castle of Albola which was perfect for lunch! We had daily thunderstorms in... We had a lovely holiday, really, really lovely. The villa was wonderful, we all loved it. Beautiful mix of old and newer bits of furniture. Very comfortable in every way. There were loads of zones so people could feel that had space if they wanted some quiet time. The care package left for us was just the best and so hugely appreciated. We ate in most nights as we love to cook and the kitchen was a dream. Not sure where it is that you mention us having to pay a people tax once we arrived. Must have missed that. We had an absolutely fantastic time at Villa Rapale - the house was perfect, the views stunning and the faculties brilliant - the pool, pizza oven and tennis courts being particular favourites.
