On a gentle hill in some of the loveliest countryside of Tuscany, the ancient, aristocratic winery in the little village of Lornano has been in the same family for generations. Three houses are arranged round an old threshing floor, like the piazza of a hamlet. They all have plenty of space and height. Much of the furniture is antique, cleverly co-ordinated with good quality Tuscan furniture in excellent taste. The large pool, about 50 metres beyond the houses, has a wide, furnished surround and shares in the beautiful views of the Chianti countryside, framed with flowers, herbs and shrubs attracting a myriad of butterflies.
Trebbiano is an apartment for two within one of the houses, accessed either from the main piazza or its private garden patio. Taken on its own, it is a lovely retreat for a couple wishing to enjoy the wine estate with a touch more privacy; combined with Canaiolo, it affords a larger living area for a group of six.
Entrance to this intimate apartment is from its private garden and covered furnished patio into a sitting room furnished with a comfortable sofa and wicker armchairs. Off of the sitting room is a compact kitchen that also accesses the patio, as well as a short hallway leading to the shower room. A short open staircase leads up to the large bedroom with with a queen bed and a single. This room has a wide arched French doors to the central piazza and a door, which could be unlocked should guests decide to take Trebbiano in conjunction with Canaiolo (Ref. 147).
The owners at the villa have their own, private parts of the grounds and parklands, and may occasionally use the pool. Guests have their own parking space and entrance, separate from the owners' villa. While you enjoy your holiday, 100 meters away exquisite wines are slowly moving and maturing in oak casks in the ancient cellars below the villa, lovingly tended just as they have been for centuries past. A visit to the cellars is a wonderful way of cooling off, for the natural temperature there varies between 12 degrees in winter and 18 degrees in the high summer, all brought about by the construction of the ancient cellars themselves. Touring from Lornano is a constant delight along picturesque roads. These three houses are sufficiently private for separate renting, while if taken by a group, there is plenty of space for everyone to meet together.

CalendarThis is a little gem of a place! Clean and comfortable in an excellent location with a fantastic pool. Excellent location in a small village. There is a very good restaurant 2 minutes walk away and the shops are a short drive. We would recommend the wine tour and tasting as, apart from being fantastic wine, it is also very informative. We had a car for the duration of our holiday, collecting and returning at Pisa Airport. After discussion with Invitation to Tuscany we went with EuroCar and were very pleased with the car and the service we received. We had purchased a European Garmin prior to our trip and this served us very well. The roads are easy to drive but having the Sat Nav just made things so much easier.
