How to travel to Tuscany, Italy
Tuscany is a beautiful and historic region of Italy and can be reached by plane, train, car and even bicycle or by ship. Here's our advice on the best and easiest ways to get here.
Getting to Tuscany by Train
If you're in Europe you can easily reach Tuscany by train - it's a great way to travel and once you arrive you can either hire a car (we can help you with that) or even stay in a villa near a village and avoid having to drive altogether.

There are fast train lines across France and Germany heading to Turin or Milan and from here you can easily reach Florence or Pisa. It is possible to leave London at 8:00 in the morning and be in Florence by 10 pm.

Driving to Tuscany
Many of our guests choose to drive down to Tuscany from the UK, or Denmark, or from Ireland. It's a great way to make the travel part of the holiday, stopping along the way to explore more of Europe. We've written some advice on routes, tips and places to stop here: Driving from London to Italy.

Flying to Tuscany
For many of us distance and time constraints mean that we will fly. Tuscany has two main airports, Pisa - PSA and Florence - FLR but Tuscany can also easily be reached from the airports in Rome: Fiumicino - FCO and Ciampino - CIA, or from Bologna - BLQ, Genova - GOA or even one of Milan's three airports: Malpensa - MXP, Linate - LIN or nearby Bergamo - BGY . Umbria also has its own airport in Perugia - PEG that can be very convenient if you're visiting Cortona, Arezzo, or Southern Tuscany in general.
