Around Villa Bianca

Villa Bianca is in the southern reaches of the province of Siena, on the edge of the border with both Umbria and Lazio, putting it in the perfect position to explore this region rich with historic cities, beautiful landscapes and hill-top villages. The closest village is Radicofani, a remarkable fortified village once said to be home to a brigand who would rob the pilgrims passing on their way to Rome, while just a short drive away you'll find San Casciano dei Bagni, a thermal town where a remarkable cache of Roman and Etruscan bronze statues have recently been discovered.

To the west you'll find the famous Val d'Orcia with cities like Pienza, Montepulciano and Montalcino within easy reach. North you'll find the medieval delights of Siena, the wineries' paradise that are the Chianti hills and, a little further, the renaissance masterpiece of Florence.

Head East and you'll find the famous cities of Cortona and Arezzo, as well as Lake Trasimeno and Perugia.

Going south will take you into the tufa-lands north of Rome, with amazing cities like Orvieto to explore, as well as striking villages perched on precarious tufa outcrops, like Pitigliano and Civita BagnoRegio.
